Watch "Mr. Darcy & Mr. Bennet Meet For A Whiskey"

Show Notes

The play was written by Bob as a sequel to "Pride & Prejudice". It's 23 years later, and Mr. Darcy has children, grandchildren, and a challenge that he feels only his father-in-law, Mr. Bennet, can help with. They meet at the historical Athenaeum Club in 1830s London. Napoleon has been defeated, Darwin is busy working on his magnum opus, and the patriarchy is well and truly established. Will Elizabeth Bennet challenge that?

Bob Bailey has acted in community theatre for almost 20 years in London ON, Sydney, NS, and Northumberland. His favorite roles include the Bishop in Les Miserables and Mr. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice. He recently directed Sunshine Boys for the Northumberland Players and has loved directing this little show, his first foray into play-writing.

Ron Newcombe has acted in musicals, plays, commercials, and movies for more than 10 years in the Maritimes. His favorite roles include Marius in Les Miserables and Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. He lives in Sydney NS.
