The Northumberland Players is hiring 1 Day Camp Leader and 3 Camp Counsellors for our well-established Summer Theatre Camp Programme. The jobs run from June 19 to August 21 for the Camp Leader and June 21 to August 21 for Camp Counsellors including a training session. Camps run from July 3 to August 18.
To qualify for these positions, which are funded under the Canada Summer Jobs Program, you must be between the ages of 17 and 30, have completed Grade 12 and be eligible to work in Canada.
The job will provide a great opportunity to build on your experience in your pursuit of a career working with children such as in social work, child psychology, education, daycare or the performing arts. Experience in working with youth in music, drama or dance is an asset. A training program is provided where creativity and input are encouraged.

Positions Available:
- Camp Leader (1) – Supervise and coordinate activities in a set drama curriculum. The leader will have instructional responsibilities including directing and teaching of theatre skills. Scheduling of instructors, communicating with parents , supervising safe delivery of programs and evaluation of staff are critical to this role.
- Counsellors (3) – Instructs theatre students from a set curriculum. The weekly activities and skill development culminate in a small production. Basic theatre skills such as a knowledge of lighting, sound and computer use are preferred. An interest in music, acting and technology are essential.
