At the Theatre Ontario Festival in Ottawa May 17-21, 2017, Waiting for the Parade was given Adjudicator’s Awards for Best Costumes and Best Ensemble plus nominations for Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role (Anne-Marie Bouthillette as Marta) and Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role (Carol Beauchamp as Margaret).
Waiting for the Parade, a Canadian production, was Northumberland Players’ entry into the Eastern Ontario Drama League Spring Festival. At the Awards Brunch on April 9, 2017, Waiting for the Parade won the following awards:
LESLIE FROST AWARD FOR BEST PRODUCTION
TRENTONIAN & TRI-COUNTY AWARD FOR BEST DIRECTOR (BRENDA WORSNOP)
KINGSTON TROPHY FOR BEST PRODUCTION OF A CANADIAN PLAY
It was also nominated for:
John L. Walley Award for Best Costuming (Dawn Watters and Grace Price)
Leonard Beauine Memorial Trophy for Best Actress in a Major Role. Kristy Bird and Anne-Marie Bouthillette nominated.
Armagh Sifton Award – Adjudicator’s award – Stage Manager, Kara Besson nominated.
Winning Best Production meant that Waiting for the Parade was one of four plays at the Theatre Ontario Festival in Ottawa May 17th – 21st at the Ottawa Little Theatre. Waiting for the Parade won the following awards::
