Thank You to Ontario Trillium Foundation

It feels as if we are emerging from two years of hibernation.  Exciting things are happening around the Northumberland Players and it is time to say ‘Thank You’ for the support we have received to help us emerge in a strong position.

From March 2020 to February 2021 we were completely shut down.  We pared back expenses as much as we could but the loss of revenue was a strain.  However, thanks to help from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, we were able to mount six shows from March 2021 to April 2022 – four outdoors, one dinner theatre and a performance at Victoria Hall (a small audience in a large space).

The Ontario Trillium Foundation played a key role in assisting the Players to adapt to the challenges of performing during a pandemic.  Providing the Players with a grant of over $81,000 enabled us to purchase air purifying and sanitatizing equipment. We acquired lighting and sound equipment and fencing that allowed us to perform outdoors. The purchases we were able to make with the funds the Ontario Trillium Foundation provided will continue to be used into the future allowing us to move forward as a stronger, more resilient organization.

In addition a second Trillium Foundation Grant provided operating funds support to offset the reduction in our revenues.

This spring has seen the return of shows at the Best Western, the Firehall and a concert at Victoria Hall.  Camp will be busy all summer.  There will be a BBQ to celebrate the opening of our expanded Hub of workshop, props storage and Costume House.   In the fall and winter there will be an exciting season of performances.

Thank you Ontario Trillium Foundation!
