This is a busy month, and there’s a lot of juggling and multitasking happening at the Firehall Theatre!
Auditions
There are auditions for 3 of our winter shows happening in the next couple of weeks:
- Chicago – September 7 & 8. Be a part of the musical we’ve been trying to get the rights for for the last 15 years!
- Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley – September 10. This new “sequel” to Pride and Prejudice is sure to become a Christmas classic.
- The Sunshine Boys – September 17 & 22. This is your chance to be in one of Neil Simon’s greatest comedies!
Remember, auditions are open to everyone. Northumberland Players welcomes all levels of experience.
Workshops
Do you struggle to read music? We’ve got two great workshops with Shannon Linton of Northern Hearts that will help you learn or improve your sight reading skills!
- Intermediate Sight Reading – September 9
- Beginner Sight Reading – September 11
If you’re volunteering for Front of House this year, there’s a training session on September 11.
And while it’s not quite in September, we have a great kids’ improv workshop with Melody A. Johnson coming up in October.
Performances
Last but not least, don’t forget that our first show of the season, Blithe Spirit, opens on September 20th and runs for 3 weeks at the Firehall Theatre.
With wonderful staging, a script with twists and turns and 1940’s costuming and set, Blithe Spirit is a deliciously ghostly and funny piece of theatre!
New this year, you can get a dinner & show package – for $65, you get a 3-course meal at Cucina Urbana and a ticket for Blithe Spirit (price includes ticket, meal, taxes, and gratuities). Makes for a great evening out!
