Ladies, put on your hard hats and tool belts!
Each participant will build their own (scaled) flat.
They will learn the use of the table saw, mitre saw, air nailer, screw gun, finishing techniques and paint techniques.
Additionally all participants will build a wall using stiffeners (whalers) and stage braces (jacks), and how to finish seams in a wall.
Other topics may come up, but that will be time dependent.

About the Facilitator:
James McKernan is a professor of stage technology at York University in the Department of Theatre. He has been a scenic carpenter for 27 years, working on shows ranging from the Junos to feature films and many live theatre & dance productions.
Recently he has been production manager and head carpenter for The Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company on multiple productions as well as the head carpenter on various other professional shows. James has been teaching scenic carpentry for 17 years.
Of note, the classes James teaches have around a 75% female demographic.
