We are looking for directors who are interested in being shortlisted for the 27/28 season to direct the youth show, a Christmas concert, a Firehall show or a dinner theatre comedy; the major musical has its own selection process. 

You don’t have to specify in this first stage. The reading committee has started reading plays this month. This year our goal is to keep interested directors informed with what is being read on a monthly basis. I will, as Artistic Director send you the titles being read each month.

If you are interested in a title I will forward you the script. If you have a title you would like to submit to the committee I will immediately put it on the short list to be read. You will be informed if the title was short listed or not.

Eventually, the committee will send a slate of plays to the Board and the Season will be selected. Directors will be part of the process for the entire process rather than asked to select from a slate near the end of the process. This allows for directors to have more input in what is being read and have the opportunity to read plays as well.

I will send you a criteria for each venue and a general vision of what kind of plays we are looking for once you have contacted me that you are interested in being considered. The criteria will also be posted on our website soon. I will send you a package immediately once you send your email and interest. If you have not directed for the Northumberland Players you will be asked to send a short resume. I am looking forward to working with you.
