Sides available at the Firehall. Auditions will be a combination of side reading, light improv and group work.
We welcome actors of all backgrounds, identities, and experience levels to audition. Casting will be based on performance fit and chemistry.

About the Play
The Memory of Water is an award-winning dark comedy that examines family dynamics and the role of memory in our lives and relationships. Three women gather on the night before their mother’s funeral. Each of them has different memories of the past. Old wounds and fresh conflicts are revealed as the sisters struggle to understand their relationships with each other, with their mother, and with the men in their lives.
Character Breakdown
Vi (Female, can play 35-45)
The woman’s deceased mother, she’s confident in both mind and body. Vi is tough.
Mary (Female, can play 35-45)
The oldest daughter of Vi, Mary is a strong, very intelligent no nonsense woman. A Dr in a precarious relationship, Mary is the lead in the play
Teresa (Female, can play 30s to 40s)
High strung yet new age. The middle sister, she’s often trying to keep the peace. Married to Frank.
Catherine (Female, can play 20s–30s)
Loveable and scattered, Catherine is the youngest sister. High energy and dynamic, Catherine is a challenging character.
Mike (Male, can play 35-50)
A married man who is having an affair with Mary. A complex character that needs to make a decision about his relationship with Mary.
Frank (Male, can play 30-40s)
Teresa’s husband Frank hates his job. His dream is to open/run a pub.
